Propolis Throat Spray

In a liquid form Propolis can be taken internally, applied externally or used as a mouth wash or gargle. Propolis throat spray is an ideal topical application allowing propolis to get directly to the site of infection. Propolis is believed to inhibit and even destroy various species of bacteria. This means taken orally as a mouth wash or gargle or directly applied as a spray it can be a great aid in your daily teeth and mouth health routine. If applied directly to small skin abrasions or scratches it may assist in keeping such areas clean and infection free.

Studies have shown that propolis may inhibit various species of staph bacteria causing tooth decay and strep throat. This is not news to beekeepers, keeping a piece of propolis under the tongue is an old-time beekeepers' remedy for sore throat.

Staph infections are caused by the bacteria staphylococcus aureus, which many people carry on their skin and in their noses without getting sick. But when the skin is punctured or broken staph bacteria can enter the wound and cause infections which can lead to other health problems. You can help prevent staph infections by regular hand washing and daily bathing and by keeping areas that have been cut clean or covered. The antibacterial properties of propolis make the use of either liquid or cream a positive aid in keeping punctured or broken skin clean with a regular washing regime.

Whilst there is a lot of interesting and positive research already done and ongoing into the benefits of Propolis it is important to stress that it is a natural remedy and as such we are unable to make specific medical claims in relation to its properties and uses. Natural remedies do not help everyone and we would always recommend discussing any treatments with a qualified medical practitioner if you have any queries or doubts about the suitability of natural remedies for your condition.

Propolis is also not suitable for people with allergies to tree resin or bee products. We would always recommend applying Propolis cream or liquid to a small area such as wrist or inside of elbow for 24 hours to test for allergic reactions before applying more generally to other affected areas. Propolis is a natural and gentle substance with usually no side effects but testing for allergic reactions is a simple easy way of ensuring you get the best out of this wonderful product.

Propolis is not recommended for pregnant or nursing women because there is not enough information in this area relating to the use of propolis during these conditions
